The season is under way but new players are always welcome for Blasters, Junior and Senior Men's and Women's cricket.

Oh baby. Some epic performance seen in 2nd grade this weekend, but we wanted to highlight two milestones. Sharing a match saving partnership, CJ and Jordo turned the tide of the match with some patient and eventually expansive batting.
Our 2s are on to the big show, beating Queanbeyan at the home of cricket to secure their second grand final birth of the year. While the ground for the final is still TBA, lock in Saturday and Sunday to support our boys and push for a historic double!
With the season wrapping up for all but 2nd Grade, we invite everyone to come down to our end of season presentation night on Friday the 28th of March.

Some massive games played this weekend with a few bits of huge news for #owlnation.
On Saturday 2s, 5s and our Women's teams won some pretty crucial round games that could prove crucial in the push for finals coming up in the next few weeks.
On Sunday, both 1st and 2nd grade won their semi-finals booking their spot in one-day grand finals happening next week Sunday.

A well deserved week off for most of our owls was highlighted by a century from one of our club's most consistent performers this year, Wal Murdoch. Congratulations Wal!

On the 30th of January, a very special exhibition match was played at Melbournes Junction oval, featuring two of our very own, Sofia and Viv, playing for an Afghanistan cricket xi and a cricket without borders xi respectively.
Despite the cricket being played, the match had a much larger meaning, with this being the first time the Afghan Women’s team has been able to play together since the takeover of the Taliban in 2021.

Here are last week's top performers. A down week for the owls with a silver lining of some outstanding performances. Special mention to Dave Dubey, who becomes the first ANU player in almost a decade to score two hundreds in one season for the owls!
A disappointing week for the owls with 5 losses to start the year. However, the weekend did have a few highlights, with 1s, 2s and 4s all making one-day finals, as well as some brilliant individual performances which will be highlighted in the next post.
