A much better year both on and off the field (thanks to the revitalised committee driven by Greg Badcock) saw ANUCC bring home 2 premierships. In 3rd Grade, Greg Badcock captained the first 3rd Grade 2 day premiership winning side since 1983-84. The women broke through for their first premiership ever in a Grand Final replay (after a controversial Grand Final loss was set aside) that was more of a rout than a game. Fourth Grade were also runners up in the One Day competition and there were no wooden spoons. 
The club also started up a Milo in2Cricket program catering for boys and girls aged up to 10 years. This was run by Greg Badcock and Suzi Foley (with assistance from several club members) on Friday evenings at South Oval. Up to 50 children got to try out cricket in a safe and picturesque environment whilst learning the basic skills of the game. Hopefully some of these kids will be future stars of the club. 
The club was also buoyed by the weekly musings on club activities by the mysterious and secret Oracle. The Oracle's match summaries and insights into the club's more colourful members was greatly appreciated by all and he (or she) was awarded Club Member of the year. 
Unfortunately, the club lost one of its founding members with the passing of Ian "Chairman" Wilson. Ian played in the club's first match in 1962 and continued playing until 1998. He took 530 wickets with his crafty leg spin and scored 1581 runs. He was captain of ANUCC's first ever premiership team (3rd Grade in 62-63). A good cricketer and a fine person. Vale Chairman. 
On the field, the main factor was the weather. Most teams missed between a third to a half of the season due to the big wet. It also meant that many games were decided by the toss and often prevented teams building up momentum and cohesion - an important factor as most of the ANUCC's teams were very different from previous years.
Although its win/loss record doesn't show it, First Grade significantly improved on the previous season. Many of the losses were much closer and reflected an occasional bad session or even an hour. The obvious weaknesses in comparison to the top 4 teams were the lack of consistent batting at 3 and 4 and the lack of 1 or 2 strike bowlers. In Randall Starr's last full season of cricket he scored 547 runs @ 30.1 including a match winning (and wooden spoon avoiding) 137 against Ginninderra. Andrew Stead, 340 runs @ 24.3, and Nathan Docker, 288 runs @ 19.2, had solid seasons to back up their wicketkeeping and bowling duties respectively.
The bowling was led by Moeine Cheema with 19 wickets @ 23.1 (with 7 wickets in a 1 day match).
Second Grade, led by Tony Pick, was very much a development squad this season with the aim of producing a competitive First and Second Grade squad in the future. As such it was light on experience but high in enthusiasm and youth. The enthusiasm was sorely tested by a run of 3 consecutive outright losses before Xmas. However, the team rallied to finish 5th in the 2 Day competition and shows promise for the future. Tony led from the front with 355 runs @ 29.6 and 22 wickets @ 19.5. In the batting, Cam Fox scored 235 runs @ 26.1, whilst in the bowling Matt Hughes took 17 wickets @ 23.1.
Third Grade started the season slowly but finished with a bang. The addition, late in the season, of another senior player, Dave "Hobo" Thomson, helped significantly as the team emerged triumphant against Norths in the 2 Day Final.
The semi-final against Ginninderra at Kippax was a tense affair. ANU started well with a 64 run partnership between Badcock and Petersen but lost wickets regularly after that to slump to 8/137. Matt Knappman and Simon Campbell then added a quick-fire 55 to see ANU to a defendable 192. The home side in reply slumped to 5/47 off 41 overs before starting a comeback. Simon Campbell kept his nerve and his pace to slice through the middle order. Apart from a brief flurry from the last partnership ANU won comfortably with impressive fielding and good tight bowling.

The Final was defined by both team's openings. Norths never really recovered from 4/8 and after a brief middle-order recovery and some late hitting only reached 160 on a good pitch and fast outfield at Freebody. ANU's bowling was tight and everybody contributed well in the field. When it came for ANU to chase another solid opening partnership of 62 followed by a series of solid 20 and 30 stands saw ANU comfortably home (after a small hiccup around lunch). Greg Badcock led from the front with a fine 42.

Greg Badcock dominated the batting with 370 runs @ 26.4 with fine support from fellow open Brett Peterson, 201 runs @ 20.1. Simon Campbell was the pick of the bowlers with 27 wickets @ 12.7, with old stager Dave "Hobo" Thomson taking 16 wickets @ 11.4 from limited appearances.
Fourth Grade was led by action man John Martin. He moulded the team into a solid unit whose best cricket is ahead of them. The team made the One Day Grand Final against Wests. Unfortunately, their batting was never able to generate solid partnerships except for the 4th wicket (78). Michael Ireland scored 51 out of a final total of 146. ANU made Wests work hard to get to the total but lost by 6 wickets with 5 overs to go.

Chris "Mr. Consistency" Peiris had a great season with the bat scoring 399 runs @ 57.0. His lack of support in most matches probably condemned the team to the middle of the table. In the bowling, Umair Yousaf was at times unplayable and took 23 wickets @ 13.4 while Dan Thomas took 20 wickets @ 17.1.
In Fifth Grade, ANU fielded two teams. The Blue team led by Murray Radcliffe was a mixture of old-hands, including several ex first-graders and ACT Rep. players, and some talented youngsters. The intention was to develop talent that over time would assist the club's higher grades (similar to Queanbeyan and Weston Creek efforts). The Blues were the team most affected by the weather and never really developed any momentum during the season. Murray emerged as the team's best bowler with Steve Smith, with a century against Weston Creek, showing the youngster's how to bat. The younger players learnt a lot from the experience and will be a force to reckon with in years to come.
The other Fifth Grade team, ANU White, was led by Peter Foley. This team had a number of old hands plus a gaggle of students, some of whom had never played senior cricket, in other words a "normal" ANU fifth grade team. The team slowly built momentum and finished a solid fifth after nearly half its matches were rain affected. Highlight of the year was probably victory in a tense derby game in which neither team handled the pressure with White triumphing by 2 wickets chasing 62! As usual Peter Foley led the bowling with 23 wickets @ 9.1 with good support from Dhammika Amarasinghe, 11 wickets @ 14, and Warren Armstrong with 9 wickets @ 11.9. Batting was the team's weak link, especially before Xmas, but Milind Neharker scored 151 runs @ 30.2 to show that one good shot is all you need. Patrick Aitkenhead backed up his wicketkeeping with 147 runs @ 16.3.
Sixth Grade started off the season well and led the competition for a while before a mid-season slump and the loss of some players, including captain Liam Cosgrave, saw them finish fifth only half a game out of the finals. The team, as usual, unearthed some good talent who will be playing much higher in coming seasons. One of these players, Zack Shafron, scored 351 runs @31.9 and took 19 wickets @ 20.5. Old stager Antony Thompson scored 234 runs @ 26 and rising star Harry Slatyer with 210 runs @ 23.3 offered great support. The team's main weakness was a lack of depth in the bowling.
As mentioned above the Women's team broke through for their first premiership after dominating the season. The team was undefeated during the regular season which earnt them direct entry to the Grand Final. In the first Grand Final, ANU made 4/185 with Kate O'Sullivan retiring on reaching 50. Tuggeranong replied with 9/186 with their last pair scoring 96. However, their best batsman had scored 93* and had not retired. ANU appealed the result and the match was ordered to be replayed.

The replay, like many Grand Final replays, was a very one-sided affair with the ANU women bowling and fielding brilliantly to dismiss Tuggeranong for 19. This was easily chased down within 5 overs for a 10 wicket win which erased the memories of the first match.

Over the season Kate O'Sullivan was an irresistible force scoring 157 runs @ 78.5. Team stalwart Peta Guy anchored the middle order with 90 runs @30.0. Fiona White once again was dominant with the ball taking 12 wickets @ 5.0 with Kerry Mclachlan, 9 wickets @ 6.1, not far behind. The team was well coached by Tony Santini and their improvement in the field as the season progressed was quite obvious.

ANUCC continued to improve as the work of previous seasons started to bear fruit. Though only 2 trophies were won (3rds 1 Day and T20) nearly every team in the club participated in finals action. 2s made the 2 Day finals, 3s made the finals in all 3 comps,4s made the 1 Day Grand Final, 5s made their finals and the Women's Glenda Hall team also made the semis. 1s and 4s missed 2 Day finals action on very small quotient differentials.
The club's In2Cricket program also continued to grow with up to 50 kids involved. Much thanks to Suzi Foley and "Milo" Sam. 
The Oracle wasn't as prolific as the year before but with more teams winning and hence more enthusiasm at training and after match drinks at the "Bowlo" probably wasn't as needed as the year before. The occasional articles and commentary were well appreciated though.
First Grade, under the leadership of Mark Bennett, continued to improve and unluckily missed the 2 Day finals on quotient. Though they had no stars they showed what a committed team can achieve. A few more 50s turned into 100s is all that stands between the team and a good tilt at the title. Friday Kasteni, on his return to the club, made 591 runs @ 28.1. Randall Starr scored 533 runs @ 33.5 including his mandatory century against Ginninderra. Mark Bennett with 480 runs @ 26.7 led from the front. Mark also took 37 wickets @ 18.0 to cap a fine season. Nick Prell with 26 wickets @ 23.4 showed the benefits of a lot of hard work.
Second Grade, continued the steady improvement from the year before with their batting in particular starting to become consistently solid. The team narrowly missed the 1Day semis but reached the 2Day semis where they lost to Norths. Chasing 255 at KTMO is gettable but ANU collapsed to 6/48. A fine innings from Rego of 72 adding some respectability but a last wicket partnership of 56 only delayed the inevitable. The team did suffer from a high turnover with 41 players during the season but played their best cricket once the team stabilised.

Moeine Cheema was inspirational as captain with 39 wickets @ 17.6 and 643 runs @ 37.8 including a fine 159 against Tuggeranong. Dave Jamali also passed 300 runs (326 @ 20.4) and Matt Coggan, 18 wickets @ 23.3, and Tom Elford,17 wickets @ 20.4, had good debut years.
Third Grade, led by Greg Badcock, was again the club's most successful team. While it didn't defend its 2Day title it did win the 1Day competition and were joint premiers, but moral winners, in the T20 competition.
The 1Day semi was a tight affair. ANU bowled well to dismiss Eastlake for 171 with all the bowlers bowling tight lines. The run chase got off to a solid, if slow start, and all the batsmen made starts but with 40 runs to get off the last 10 overs and only 5 wickets in hand it started to get tense. The experienced pair of John Martin and Greg Badcock put on 33 to get within sight of victory with Greg seeing the side home with 9 balls to spare.

The T20 semi was a close low scoring match. ANU again bowled first and did a great job keeping the target below 90 off 20 overs. However, at 3/8 and 6/40 the chase looked lost until Jono Morrell steadied the innings with great support from Nick Grant. ANU got home with 2 overs to spare.

Unfortunately, the T20 Final at Manuka was washed out with ANU 2/57 off 9 overs chasing Wests 128. Joint premierships were awarded.
The 1Day Final against Norths saw ANU win after an amazing comeback. After having Norths 6/61 and 7/102 ANU eventually bowled them out in the last over for 156. All the bowlers bowled well with Sam Levido taking 3/26 and great fielding earning 3 runouts. ANU then proceeded to out collapse Norths (much to injured captain Greg Badcock's dismay) and slumped to 8/97. Up stepped Nick Grant and Damien Carroll who put together a 59 run partnership to level the scores with Nick being run out going for the winning run. Damo held his nerve to score the winning run with 3 balls left.

CP also took 30 wickets at a miserly 11.3 with his "offspin". Simon Campbell took 22 wickets @ 20.7 with many lion-hearted performances.
Fourth Grade was led by Murray Radcliffe. Taking last year's Fifth Grade team and adding a few old hands he led a very successful development squad to the One Day final and almost to the Two Day finals (missing out on quotient).

Veteran Michael Ireland anchored the innings and was unlucky not get a well-deserved century. 211 batting second on ANU North on a Sunday was always going to be a tough job and once the second wicket fell at 72 (after 12 overs) Steve Smith and Sean Blaylock quickly ran through the rest to dismiss Eastlake in just 30 overs.

The Final however was a let-down. After a slow start the middle order collapsed and no batsmen made 20. Defending just 101, ANU got off to a good start with 2 early wickets but a 95 run stand saw Norths home in just 22 overs.
Michael Ireland had a fine year with the bat making 459 runs @ 38.3. He was supported by fellow veteran Steve Smith with 287 runs @ 28.7. Bowling depth was probably the team's weak link with Steve Smith taking 22 wickets @ 13.3 and Nathan Blaylock 19 wickets @ 11.2 but with not much consistency amongst the rest.
Fifth Grade, with John Martin at the helm, snuck into the semi-finals on quotient after an end-of-season slump due to player unavailability. The team's strength all year was its bowling with its batting somewhat prone to collapses. The semi-final against Norths (Golden Eagles) was always going to be tough especially as we could only use 9 batsmen (due to qualification issues). Norths batted first and scored freely once the ball stopped swinging. Their running between the wickets was risky but successful and only a late fightback by Milind Neharker with ball kept them to 177 off 45 overs. ANU needed a good start to chase this total but never got started and slumped to 6/60. A fine partnership of 68 between Dan Thomas and Milind gave us a chance but the run rate got out of reach and we were dismissed for 131.

David Luchetti returned to the club and scored 211 runs @ 35.2 and also showed his class behind the stumps. Peter Foley kept taking wickets to finish with 32 @ 9.2. Milind Neharker finished the season strongly to claim 23 scalps @ 10.3.
Sixth Grade were the hardest training team in the club and after a horrendous middle of the season (lowest point scoring just 35) rapidly improved (highest point winning last 4 in a row including chasing 238) but missed finals action. Limited to just a few appearances, Ragu Dang terrorised opposition bowlers with 290 runs @ 145.0. Justin Lazic, as well as leading the team and running incredibly enthusiastic training sessions, took 20 wickets @ 19.5.
The Women's Grades were probably a bit confusing to the casual follower. ANUCC (bolstered by some Meteors players) played as Power Education in the Lynne O'Meara Premier League and T20 competitions, played on Saturdays. On Sundays everyone, except the Meteors, played in the Glenda Hall competition (a mixture of T20 and 40 over games). The Power Education team finished 2nd in both competitions but there were no finals due to rain. In the Glenda Hall competition, ANUCC finished 3rd but lost to eventual winners Wests in the preliminary final.

Ash Smith led the batting with 334 runs @ 66.8 including a high score of163 against Bluestar. The game against Bluestar saw the team score 421 (off 40 overs) with the second wicket falling at 305. Kris Brit scored 206 runs @ 51.5 (including 99 against Bluestar). Fiona White with 14 wickets @ 10.1 and Zoe Cooke with 13 wickets @ 12.5 to lead the bowling.
As a side note, the team often played with less than 11 players but the rules allow lowest scoring players to bat again (in the interests of developing the players). Suzi Foley, under this rule, batted 3 times in 1 innings without scoring! A possible world record!!
 

ANUCC went slightly backwards this season following the loss of key players like Randall Starr. However, the twin flagships of 3rds and the Women powered on with both winning premierships. Of the rest only 4th Grade saw finals action. The club as a whole is susceptible to bad hours which lose matches.
The club's In2Cricket program also continued to grow with up to 50 kids involved. The club needs to build on this success as North Canberra Gungahlin are now fully based in Gungahlin leaving only ANUCC to service the inner north.
A major milestone was reached when Peter Foley took his 1000th wicket for the club. The Canberra Times article is here One away from a 1000.

Nick Prell with 27 wickets @ 16.1 and Jackson Long with 26 wickets @ 12.7 showed the way with the ball but need more support.
Second Grade, captained by old hand Greg Badcock, had a forgettable year due to a number of reasons. They had a high turnover of players, no-one made more than 300 runs and the leading bowler only took 13 wickets. On a positive note it was many players first chance to play at this level and quite a few also got a taste of First Grade. Mathew Coggan with 13 wickets @ 25.6 was the leading bowler ahead of Anthony Braybrooks, 11 wickets @ 37.6. Cameron Fox, 281 runs @ 28.1, and Anthony Braybrooks, 280 runs @ 21.5, were the leading batsmen. 
Third Grade, led by Brett Peterson, was again the club's most successful team. While it didn't defend its 1Day title it did win the 2Day competition and the T20 competition.
In the 1Day semi ANU was always fighting from behind with none of the batsmen getting going and the side failing to bat the whole 50 overs. In the field they tried hard but after being on top early NCG put together a 55 run partnership to take them from 5/39 to 6/94 and the rest of the lineup did enough to see them home.

The 2Day semi was a real battle of youth versus experience. Queanbeyan's old guard of S. Frost (109) and P. Solway (85) saw them to a 250 run 1st innings. A brilliant 113 by Karminder Pawar with solid support from the rest of the team saw ANU home.

The T20 Final at Manuka was a much more one-sided affair. With Chris Peiris 2/17 and Karminder Pawar 2/16 backed up by great fielding restricting Queanbeyan to 115. Karminder then backed up his bowling with 60 opening the innings. Hugh Fitzpatrick also opened and scored 39* to lead ANU to an 8 wicket win with more than 3 overs to go.

RESULT : ANU won outright by 7 wickets
Brett Peterson led from the front as both captain and opening bat. He scored a phenomenal 613 runs @ 30.7. One of the team's veterans, Richard Muir scored a classy 454 runs @ 30.3 including a match winning 56* in the GF. Karminder Pawar scored 396 runs @ 39.6 including a great century against Queanbeyan in the Semi. The other opener, Hugh Fitzpatrick also passed 300 with 316 runs @ 26.3.
Chris Peiris again took the bowling honours with 39 wickets @ 11.7. Simon Campbell had another solid year with 30 wickets @ 16.8.
Fourth Grade was led by John Martin. The team did better at the short form of the game making the T20 Final and the 1Day semi-final.

The Final however was a let-down. Wests batted first and apart from Stephen Richard 4/28 all the other bowlers got hammered on a flat North Oval pitch. ANU never really got going chasing such a large score and took too many risks early on that led them to a disappointing total of just 85.
Michael Ireland had yet another fine year with the bat making 438 runs @ 27.8. This took him to the top of the ANU runs scorer list. He was supported by newcomer Bilal Saikal with 388 runs @ 28.6. 
Fifth Grade, with Peter Foley, had a tough year with a high player turnover. They started disastrously, scoring just 13 against Queanbeyan, but slowly improved until they had a chance at the finals. Unfortunately, a debatable tie against Queanbeyan halted their chance and eventually they finished 6th.
David Luchetti mixed appearances with 5s and 4s and scored 214 runs @ 53.5. John Farquhar showed lots of grit to score 213 runs @ 19.4 including an innings where he batted the entire 45 overs. Peter Foley took 25 wickets @ 10.9 including his 1000th for the club. John Couch supported ably with 15 wickets @ 17.6.
Sixth Grade were again the hardest training team in the club. They too suffered with a high turnover of players and lacked bowling depth. Three players scored tons (Nathan Lawson, Liam Tucker and Zeeshan Iqbal) which showed that they had the batting talent to trouble most teams. Zeeshan Iqbal finished the season with 471 runs @ 31.4 and Liam Tucker with 426 runs @ 32.6 was not far behind. In the bowling 2 bowlers took 31 wickets with Ahmed Ansari averaging 17.9 and Leigh Mulcahy 19.9.
The Women's Grade went back to 2 competitions, a 40 over 1 day format and a T20 format. 
After a bit of rain overnight the pitch was soft but even with the outfield slow – Helen surprisingly won the toss and wisely sent Tuggers in to bat. Bowling and fielding were very good, despite a couple of half chances or better going down. Helen bowled with good pace and got a just reward with 3/25, Fiona bowled without much luck and took 1/16 and Peta managed 2/11. A fielding highlight was from Katrina who kept very well with balls bouncing all over the place and a number of balls swinging outrageously. A beautiful catch of a thin edge was given not out but the next one off the glove was taken like a pro. Jenna and Claire did a power of work in the outfield and saved quite a few runs. Trish, as always did what we needed and keeps hitting the stumps with those returns! Tuggeranong were six down for 87 off 20 overs, with the star batters kept subdued and a couple of breaks our way would have seen that total 15-20 runs less. This was a challenging score but not beyond us if we batted well.

A recurring theme this year saw some hard to understand umpiring decisions with a runout and stumping given not out when in both cases the bat was not grounded and feet outside the crease. Never easy to umpire but we have had some inexperienced ones this year who may not always be watching where they should. At least we had umpires.
The ANU batting was good despite ducks from the three top scorers in the team over the previous games. Kerry, Peta and Helen all made ducks facing less than an over between them. Partially bad luck and partially impatience in each case. Meanwhile Tracey did what was needed and batted steadily for 21, getting out pushing for runs towards the end. Tracey and Fiona (18) took the score to 30 for the third wicket and we looked a chance of pulling the game out of the fire until both Fiona and Helen were out. Claire and Tracey steadied the innings but three wickets on 57 runs left us without a chance.

An outstanding performance on an uncharacteristically tricky Chisholm 1 Oval saw ANU Women prevail over Tuggeranong by 7 runs. ANU made 108 off just under 39 overs and Tuggers all out 101 in 26 overs. Highlights included Helen 5/22 including the last three wickets – on a hat trick next season first ball bowled! Kerry top scored with a quick 20 and Jenna made a nice 15 in the partnership that made the win possible with Emma late in the innings. So good to see that a better team beat a team with more star players. In the field we saw three great catches from Jenna (running back for a caught and bowled), Bek taking a sharp one off an edge to start the final collapse from Tuggers and Trish taking a good one to dismiss KB. Every run saved in the field was important so great to see all the hard running training work pay off. Claire took a wicket on her birthday … the cake at the lunch break was excellent too. Thanks team Leske! As your leg improved through the season Claire so did your confidence. Look out next year. We played together as a team and did what we needed to do when we needed it. That is how you win a grand final!

Peta Guy had a stellar year with her experience shining through. Peta scored 254 runs @ 36.3 and took 35 wickets @ an amazing 5.5. Helen Baxendale took 30 wickets @ 8.2 (including 5 in the GF) with her vastly improved pace bowling.

ANUCC had a solid if unspectacular year. The undoubted highlight was the 1st grade team's tie in the 2 day semi-final against a "star-studded" Queanbeyan side. Unfortunately, they didn't qualify for the GF but it certainly showed that there was a potential new powerhouse in the making.
Most of the other teams made finals or were in contention but no silverware resulted.
The club's In2Cricket program continued to grow with up to 50 kids involved and a representative U12 girls' team (managed by Suzi Foley) playing in the boys competition, where they won most of their matches.
Individually, the season was dominated by batsmen. 7 players scored more than 500 runs, 3 in 1sts and Owen Chivers set a club record 204* in First Grade. 
First Grade, under the leadership of Mark Bennett, made the 2 Day finals where they went within 1 run of making the GF after tying on 1st Innings against Comets-studded Queanbeyan.
Queanbeyan reached 5/207 before a devastating spell from Scott Murn almost won it for the students with a contentious umpiring decision the difference. ANU had a red hot go in the 2nd innings but were denied by one of the many Comets in the Queanbeyan side.

Mark Bennett led the way with the bat scoring 628 runs @ 36.9 and was ably supported by Owen Chivers, 599 runs @ 37.4, Scott Murn, 535 runs @ 31.5 and Andrew Stead, 433 runs @ 20.7. 
In the bowling, Nick Prell took 34 wickets @ 22.3 with great support from Scott Murn who backed up his batting with 29 wickets @ 15.4. 
Second Grade, reached the T20 grand final. Along the way AJ Braybrooks scored 144* in a T20 match and ANU easily accounted for Wests in the semi after a devastating opening spell by Hogan and Stewart had Wests in tatters at 7/34.

AJ Braybrooks followed up his breakthrough year to emerge as 2nd Grade's top batsman with 346 runs @26.6 with old-hand Richard Muir contributing 313 runs @ 44.7. The bowling was probably the weak link in the longer forms of the game as it lacked penetration at times which meant ANU were unable to protect good scores. Only Joel Stewart, 24 wickets @ 15.75, took more than 20 wickets.
Third Grade started the season well by again reaching the T20 Grand Final. The semi against Weston Creek was a close affair won on the second last ball.

After that the team never quite gelled and missed the 1 and 2 Day finals. Captain Nick Grant led from the front with the bat scoring 328 runs @ 25.2 and fast developing Bilal Saikal backed him up with @89 runs @ 19.2. 4 other players scored over 200 runs to provide a solid top order.
The bowling was steady but lacked a real spearhead. Best of the bowlers were Lukas Santinon with 21 wickets @ 15.5 and evergreen S. Campbell with 20 wickets @ 17.7. 
Fourth Grade was very much a development team this year side with 3 U15s, some promising newcomers and some experienced players. Wet weather at the end of the season prevented any hopes of finals cricket but the side had some promising moments against more fancied sides. 
Captain Michael Ireland started the season with a ton and went on to make 519 runs @ 30.6. Shah Srivistava made a breakthrough century and finished the season strongly with 272 runs @ 27.2. Old stager Peter Foley took 16 wickets @ 16.8 and promising youngster Cam McDonald improved in leaps and bounds to take 12 wickets @ 30.1.
Fifth grade, had a forgettable year suffering from a lack of players and with very little experience on turf (or even of cricket). Steven Machan scored 138 runs @ 34.5 before moving up to 4ths. Warren Armstrong took 12 wickets @ 15.8 including his first ever 5 wicket haul.
Sixth Grade started with 5 losses in 5ths but dropped a grade and made the semi-final but struggled to bowl and field in the rain to bow out early.

Sixth grade batsmen scored 7 centuries with "Sunny" Khandaker scoring 3 on his way to 729 runs @ 72.9. Zeeshan Iqbal scored 2 in making 538 runs @ 38.4 and Liam Tucker also scored 2 in making 426 runs @ 60.9. 
The team was possibly 1 or 2 bowlers short with only Leigh Mulcahy (21 wickets @ 19.3), Ahmed Ansari (21 wickets @ 16.5) and "Sunny" Khandaker (20 wickets @ 15.2) taking 20 or more wickets. 
The Women's grade started well but ran out of players and lost most of their games after the Xmas break. Amelia McCormick had an astounding season with the bat scoring 309 runs @ 51.5 (retired 4 times at 50). Peta Guy was her consistent self, scoring 284 runs @ 40.6 and taking 14 wickets @ 16.6. Helen Baxendale was next best with 12 wickets @ 12.3.

ANUCC had another solid if unspectacular year but unlike the year before finally had some silverware to show for it. The undoubted highlight was the 4th grade team's 2 Day premiership with solid showings from 2nd and 3rd grade. Fifth Grade made the quarter finals (more below)!
First grade lost a lot of close games and were probably an attacking bowler short. The 6th Grade and Women's teams struggled for numbers throughout the season. 
In First Grade, Mark Bennett had a breakthrough year finally scoring that elusive ton to go with his consistent scoring. Mark ended up with 828 runs @ 59.1 to easily win the club batting award. Support came from Owen Chivers with 400 runs @ 21 and Scott Murn with 387 runs @ 24.2. 
In the bowling, Scott Murn again backed up his batting with 28 wickets @ 22.4, with Matt Edwards taking 18 wickets @ 15.8 the next best. Scott continued to be on the fringe of breaking into the Comets. 
Second Grade, reached the 2 Day semi-finals for the first time for several years but lost outright after bowling Wests out for 44 in the first innings. ANU made just 73 in reply and despite only chasing a moderate 2nd innings target never reaally got going and slumped to 5/28 before limping 10 110.

Michael Clark returned to Second Grade as captain and led the batting with 551 runs @ 36.7 with newcomer Balinder Singh Khillan scoring 398 runs @ 26.5. The bowling was solid with 3 bowlers taking more than 20 wickets for the season. Richard Southerton, 24 wickets @ 15.8 had a great debut year.
Third Grade also made the 2 Day semi-finals. ANU won the toss and batted but after poor start of 4/30 they never really recovered to only post 129 off 72 overs. Queanbeyan were never really troubled in chasing down the target.

Michael Ireland moved back up to 3rd grade and scored 332 runs @ 25.5 but no other batsman passed 250. This was probably indicative of the player turnover in the team which saw more than 40 players during the season.
Similarly, only Chris Peiris with 20 wickets @ 11.7 took more than 15 wickets.
Fourth Grade was again a development team this year side with a number of juniors and some experienced players. The team adopted the philosophy of letting the junior players get them out of trouble whenever possible. The team developed slowly and surprised themselves to reach the 2 day grand final. They were even more surprised to emerge victorious over a very experienced Norths team.
The semi-final against Queanbeyan was a high scoring draw with Greg Badcock making 131 and a strongly wagging tail contributing to a huge score. Queanbeyan chased hard at nearly 5 runs per over but ran out of time.

Draw - ANU progress due to ladder position
The Grand Final was a surprise win for 4th Grade. Captain Badcock said that they didn't even think they could win until late on the 2nd day. Maybe it was this lack of expectation that paved the way for the win. The "old" guys Thomson and Emery took 7 wickets between them but all the bowlers kept up the pressure. Norths total of 232 was competitive and with ANU slumping to 3/17 it took a great partnership between Badcock and Manson to restore parity. Manson (who loves playing Norths) went on to a brilliant 108 before falling with 52 runs required. Thomson completed a great all-round effort with a solid 35* to steer ANU home.

Greg Badcock led the way with the bat scoring 742 runs with 3 centuries @ 43.6. Dave Thomson was next with 327 runs @ 25.2 and there were good contributions from the younger players. Dave Thomson took an impressive 43 wickets @ 11.6 with comeback kid Chris Emery taking 28 wickets @ 18. Again the younger bowlers all made significant contributions and were often tasked with getting the team out of trouble. 
Fifth grade, had an interesting year. After the home and way rounds the top 6 and bottom 6 teams were split into 2 finals competitions. Finals cricket at last! As it turned out 4 teams finished equal 7th but ANU were 10th on net run rate.

With the 3 winners of the QFs progressing and the highest placed loser 5s were confident that they would play on despite the loss but an upset result ended their season. 
Aaron Manson in limited appearances due to work and higher grade appearances scored 310 runs at an amazing 103.3. Best of the regulars was Harshil Sehgal with 237 runs @ 19.8. Peter Foley took 20 wickets @ 13.5 but no one else took more than 12 to perhaps underline the teams lack of penetration (and experience). 
Sixth Grade lost most of the previous years players and struggled throughout the season to field a team. Vedant Gupta scored 158 runs @ 22.5 to lead the batting but none of the bowlers reached double figures for wickets. 
The Women's grade started well but wet weather and lack of players prevented any meaningful attempt at winning the competition. The team did scrape into to 40 over semi finals where they were completely outplayed.

Amelia McCormick followed up the previous season with 156 runs @ 31.2 and 11 wickets @ 10.8.

ANUCC finished mid-table in most grades this season. Third Grade made 3 finals but were "Solwayed" in each one. Fifth Grade White came from nowhere to win the Div2 Grand Final. The Women's team folded before Xmas, along with some other clubs, leaving the Women's grade with only 3 competitive teams. 
In First Grade, the batting generally matched it with the top teams but the bowling lacked bite with ANU taking only 53 wickets in the Two Day competition (Wests took 92). In the One Day competition, where wickets are less important, ANU finished 5th and were unlucky to miss the semis. Owen Chivers scored 547 runs @ 45.6 and Randall Starr made a welcome return scoring 398 runs @ 39.8 including another century against Ginninderra. Alrick Campbell moved up from 2s and took 24 wickets @ 22.8 with Lakshmn Shivakkumar the only other bowler to get to double figures with 14 wickets @ 24.7. 
Second Grade, missed the 1 Day semis by 1 point. A couple of narrow losses and some badly timed rain interruptions cost them dearly in the 2 Day competition. Brad Falkenberg scored 301 runs @ 60.2 to stake a claim to play higher next season, with Tom Siell scoring 286 runs @ 71.5 showing promise as a late arrival after Xmas. No one took a bag of wickets with Lukas Santinon taking 11 wickets @ 22.9, and Ujjwal Devliyal taking 10 wickets @ 20.7 th eonly bowlers in the double digits club. 
Third Grade, In the T20 Grand final ANU played Queanbeyan, as it turned out the first of 3 grand final encounters for the season. Queanbeyan batted first and made 6/158 largely based on ANU's nemesis Peter Solway with Cam Hargraves taking 3/15 of 4 overs. ANU responded well but a couple of crucial runouts robbed them of momentum and saw them fall just short with 9/145.

In the 2 Day GF, yet again against Queanbeyan, ANU got off to a solid start to be 1/56 but a steady stream of higher order wickets saw them struggle to 5/108 before Pawar and Peiris added 79. The tail managed to get the score to 230. 
Queanbeyan batted aggressively and put all the bowlers under pressure but at 5/143 ANU was still in the match. But another fine knock by P. Solway saw them past the ANU score 6 wickets down.cANUCC fielded 3 teams, Gold, Royal and White, in Fifth Grade and no Sixth Grade team. Like the previous year the competition was split into 2 divisions of 7 teams after the first round. Gold made the top division but had to be pulled out after losing too many players over the summer uni break. 
Royal made the elimination final in Div 2 but with only 10 eligible players lost a close match against Weston Creek. A 7th wicket partnership of 57 was the difference with Weston Creek capitalising on Foley's difficult caught and bowled miss.

Zahid Mumtaz smashed his way to 398 runs @ 33.2 with Charlie Boyton next with 343 @ 34.3. Mustafa Hafiz was also in the 300 club with 33 runs @ 47.1. 
English import Will Gough took the bowling honours with 26 wickets @ 14.8 with evergreen Peter Foley next with 18 wickets @ 13.2. 
The Women's team struggled for numbers and folded over the Xmas break. 

On the field this year ANUCC had some limited success with 2s, 4s and 5s making semi-finals while 6s made the Grand Final (no semis in that grade), but unfortunately no silverware. 
Off the field the ANUCC junior club continued to expand and the club's youth policy started to pay dividends with several players making ACT rep teams. In First Grade, the team suffered by not scoring 250+ scores after good starts in both the 1 and 2 day competitions. The team was only one win out of both the 1 and 2-day finals. Corey Spink scored 499 runs @ 27.7, Scott Murn 409 runs @ 40.9 and newcomer Daniel Leerdam 351 runs @ 25.1. Matthew Hughes took 30 wickets @ 18.6 and Ben Michell backed him up with 26 wickets @ 23.8. 
Second Grade finally made the 1 Day finals after a number of near misses over recent seasons and just missed the 2 Day finals. In a very close match the difference was probably the innings of ex-ANU player B. Falkenberg who made 118 which wasn't quite matched by Cam Fox's 79.

Michael Begg backed up his keeping with 429 run @ 25.2 with Cam Fox scoring 297 runs @ 24.8. Cam Fox also took 27 wickets @ 21.9 to make a great all-round contribution. Matthew Lawes took 23 wickets @ 17.0 and Matthew Willington 21 wickets @ 25.0. 
Third Grade missed out on finals for the first time in several years finishing 5th in both the 1 and 2 day comps. This was not surprising as several players were promoted and starred in 2s and several up and coming players were promoted from 4s. 
Aaron Manson scored 334 runs @ 47.7 (including another century against Norths) with Michael Schaefer, 305 runs @ 30.5 and Jay Blamey, 302 runs @ 75.5, also contributing heavily. Michael Schaefer also took 19 wickets @ 18.2 to lead the bowling.

Fourth Grade reached the 2 day semis and played Queanbeyan at Town Park. Queanbeyan batted first (always a good choice at Town Park) with old-hand M. Frost getting them to a reasonable score. ANU lost early wickets and only captain Badcock got past 20 with ANU eventually losing by 16 runs (off 111 overs!).

Greg Badcock again led from the front with 337 runs @ 24.1 with hard-hitting Aaron Manson scoring 213 runs @ 30.4 from limited appearances. Chris Emery took 18 wickets @ 13.9 to show there is still life in the old arms with young Cam McDonald, learning fast, snagging 15 @ 17.4.
Fifth grade was changed from previous years with only 1 team per club (and a new 6th grade created). This basically saw ANU move up a division from previous years and the team responded well to reach the semis where they met the nemesis - Queanbeyan. On a green-tinged new ball wicket at Chisholm ANU were sent in and slumped to 4/7 and 7/41 before a fine unbroken partnership got them to 7/107 off 45 overs. Early wickets were the key to a victory and Queanbeyan lost a wicket 1st ball but a dropped catch in the second over saw them put their heads down and wait for the ball to soften. They eventually won in the 36th over.

Zahid Mumtaz scored 221 runs @ 36.8 before Xmas and was sadly missed afterwards with no other batsmen reaching 200. James Day made his grade debut at only 13 years of age and made a very good 51 against Wests. In the bowling old man Foles took 19 wickets @ (a very cheap) 4.3 narrowly ahead of Dan O'Rourke with 17 wickets @ 12.8.
The Sixth grade competition started with 5 teams but dropped to 4. The top 2 teams went straight into the Grand Final. ANU batted first but the innings was interspersed with collapses and no one turned a start into a big score. The total of 155 was never going to be enough and was passed in the 40th over (the 47 extras did not help).

Luke Jirman dominated the batting with 566 runs @ 56.6 and should play higher. Kumar was next best with 232 runs @ 21.1. In the bowling Matt Culvenor continued his improvement with 13 wickets @ 16.8.
 

A great year for ANU even though not much silverware was actually won. In a rare feat of club strength, the top 4 grades all made the One Day Grand Finals with 2nds emerging triumphant. In the Two Day comp, 2nds, 3rds, and 4ths all made the Grand Final but only 2nd Grade won. 5ths also made the semi-finals and in 6th Grade both teams played off in the semis and White made the Grand Final only to narrowly lose in a nail-biter.
In First Grade, ANU made the T20 semi-final and the One Day Grand Final. In the T20 semi they narrowly lost to Weston Creek.

In the Grand Final an inspiring knock by captain Dan Leerdam of 98 was not quite enough to secure victory. As reported by the Canberra Times "I copped a knock, I was on zero at the time actually, from Harry Medhurst in the head and I kept batting. I didn't feel great but I kept going," Leerdam said. "Then when we were fielding I got more dizzy and lightheaded. I went to take a knee and then went on the ground and I was in all sorts. I'm alright, just a mild concussion so it's not too bad". Leerdam says he was "in all sorts" when he was rushed off in an ambulance after collapsing with a concussion midway through the second innings. ANU lost in the final over mainly due to 70 from ex-ANU captain Mark Bennett.

Overall the season saw Owen Chivers score 645 runs @ 32.3 with captain Daniel Leerdam making 551 runs @ 27.6 and Scott Murn 468 runs @ 26 to hint that trophies are not far away. The attack is probably a bowler short with only Ben Mitchell, 33 wickets @ 20.9, and Scott Murn, 27 wickets @ 16.9, taking more than 25 wickets.
Second grade featured in all 3 Grand Finals, winning two of them. In the T20 semi-final ANU chased down Eastlake's 103 quite easily.

Wests won the toss and batted - a big mistake. Matthew Lawes, combined with great catching, tore through the batting to take 7/28 and dismiss them for 44. ANU chased these down easily with young Felix Ford holding his nerve to post 26*. Cam Fox's dad, Jamie Fox, played in the ANU 2nd Grade team that last won the 1 Day competition in 1987-88.

The Two Day Sem-Final ended in a rare outright victory to ANU. Tuggeranong won the toss and batted but only scored 129. ANU responded with 231 with captain Cam Fox leading the way with a solid 51. Batting again, Tuggeranong made 173 with "Foxie" taking 4/38. This left ANU 72 to win and despite a wobble or two they reached the total 5 down.

In the Two Day Grand Final, Queanbeyan won the toss and batted. They were bowled out for just 109 with Tapia taking 4/21 on what was proving to be a difficult track. What followed was a masterclass in clean hitting with Randall Starr hitting 8 6s and 18 4s on his way to 178. He opened the batting and was dismissed when ANU was 265! Queanbeyan batted again and made 215 with no batsman reaching 50. ANU scored the 46 runs with 6 wickets in hand for a memorable victory.

Randall Starr amassed 588 runs @ 39.2 (including the amazing 178 in the 2D GF). Captain Cam Fox had another great year with 542 runs. The attack featured 3 bowlers who took 30 wickets or more - Matthew Lawes, 38 wickets @ 12.3, Angus Tarpey, 34 wickets @ 13.3 and Zaeem Tapia, 30 wickets @ 15.6 - and was the key to 2's success.
Third Grade had a similar season to 2nd Grade but no trophies. 3rds made the Grand Finals in the 1 and 2 day competitions and the T20 semi. In the T20 semi Tuggeranong set a formidable target of 142 and ANU crumbled in the chase to lose easily.

The Two Day semi resulted in a rare outright win to ANU on a bowler friendly deck at Chisholm 2. ANU won the toss and batted with some old heads applying themselves in patient knocks that saw a reasonable total. Tuggeranong crumbled to 87 due to some fine pace bowling and were asked to follow-on. They fared slightly better in the second innings but left ANU only 14 to win.

Captain David Wallace led from the front with 292 runs @ 24.3 with Ben Smart making 248 runs @ 41.3 and Karminder Pawar 234 runs @ 21.3 being the other main scorers. Jack Brandling was by far the most effective bowler with 30 wickets @ 17.5 supported by Apurv Bohara with 21 wickets @ 18.4. 
4th Grade also had a great year making the One and Two Day Grand Finals. In the One Day semi solid contributions from all of the top order saw ANU post a competitive 210 but Eastlake crumbled and were rolled for just 105.

In the One Day grand final Queanbeyan, chasing ANU's 197 were well on top after a slow start but lost 5/7 to almost hand ANU victory, however in a tense finish Queanbeyan snuck home. ANU's score was built around a fine captain's knock from Brad Hay of 55.

The Two Day GF saw a rematch of the One Day GF. ANU made a solid start but a middle order collapse of 5/18 proved decisive. Dave Thompson and Chris Emery put on 56 for the last wicket to give ANU a fighting chance. An experienced Queanbeyan side had a few tense moments but in the end comfortably won by 4 wickets.

Fifth Grade had a good year despite a very large player turnover across the season. They met Weston Creek in the semi-final but 149 was never going to be enough despite a fine 33* by young Eric Bell.

Hard-hitting Luke Jirman scored 336 runs @ 33.6 and Shaneel Parikh 320 runs @ 35.6 to lead the batting for the season. James Day took 15 wickets at a miserly 11.7 with Imraj Singh taking 13 wickets @ 14.5. 
This season the ACTCA changed the 5th and 6th Grade competitions again. With 5th grade returning to an 8 team competition, ANUCC entered 2 teams in 6th Grade. While both teams struggled at time to field full teams they both managed to make the semi-finals. 
Royals betted first and lost wickets steadily but a fine last wicket stand of 29 saw them post a defendable total based on a solid 79 by Shea Hanson. White responded well with Lars Ford seeing them home with 76* but tensions did rise towards the end as White lost 5/29 to almost throw the match away.

RESULT : ANU White Won by 3 wickets
The 6th Grade Grand Final was a tense affair with ANU fielding a mixed team of available players due to injuries and absences. ANU were sent in and started well but slowly and were well poised to post a formidable total at 2/119 but when the run rate was accelerated the wickets fell and ANU lost 8 for 26. Josh Buttson scored a good captain's knock of 49. 
Ginninderra were always ahead in the run chase but whenever they looked like cruising ANU fought back and had a couple of chances and half chances to clinch an unlikely victory but just missed out. Hamish Giddens took a memorable 5/32.

RESULT : ANU lost by 1 wicket
Lars Ford found form late in the season to score 240 runs @ 30. Evergreen Pete Foley took 22 wickets @ 11.4 with James Culvenor, Sandeep Gangal, David Lyons and Hamish Giddens (at just 6.1) all taking 16 wickets.

A year of highs and lows both on and off the field. 
First the highs. Second grade came within one wicket of a clean sweep of the trophies winning the T20 and 2 Day competitions and losing the 1 Day grand final by 1 wicket. Third grade lost the 1 Day grand final but won the 2 Day competition. Fourth grade lost the 2 Day grand final. 
The junior club continues to develop with 30 teams in both Junior and Master Blaster age groups and 6 junior teams. Felix Ford became the first graduate of ANU In2Cricket to play First Grade. 
Also, congratulations to Michael Ireland who became the first player to pass 10,000 runs for the club (10269 runs at 25.4). 
Off the field the Scholarship Night with Kerry O'Keefe raised $15,000 and ANUCC will provide 2 scholarships for 19/20 and 3 the year after. Lewis Evans and Matilda Lugg are scholarship winners for 19/20. 
Sadly the club lost 2 great members this year. Ex President John Beaton died in November. Whenever you use the ANU South Oval nets give thanks to John. Also we lost a player who epitomised the ANUCC ethos and our love for cricket. Sandeep Gangal was a great clubman and has been remembered with the creation of the 5th Grade player of the year trophy, won for the first time by Glen Lang. 
First Grade made the Konica Cup semi-finals but while mostly competitive struggled to take wickets particularly against the top 4 teams. Captain Daniel Leerdam continued to lead the way with the bat with 736 runs @ 35.0 with stalwarts Scott Murn, 497 runs @ 38.2, and Owen Chivers, 318 runs @ 17.7, contributing greaty when available. The bowling was spearheaded by Lewis Evans with 31 wickets @ 20.9 and Siddhartha Sharms with 27 wickets @ 24.1. 
In the Konica Cup semi-final ANU were never really in the match after conceding 193 off 20 overs.

RESULT : Lost by 75 runs
Second Grade had an amazing year going within 1 wicket of a clean sweep. Success was built on a solid team effort with 6 batsmen passing 300 runs for the season and 5 bowlers taking 20 or more wickets. They also have an aura of confidence built up over the successes of the last few seasons. 
Cam Fox, captain, led from the front with 542 runs @ 31.9 and 22 wickets @ 20.1. Opening batsman Dylan Clements ensured many a good start and scored 426 runs @ 25.1. Josh Hogan contributed a solid all-round performance with 363 runs @ 27.9 (including an amazing ton) and 23 wickets @ 15.9. 
Best of the bowlers was Sam Young with 24 wickets @ 18.5 with Anthony Luchetti not far behind with 22 wickets @ 12.9. 
In the T20 Grand Final ANU set a competitive 150 to win on the back of a quick 46 off 19 balls by Josh Hogan. Weston Creek started well but once the breakthrough was made by Lukas Santinon wickets fell steadily and ANU won comfortably.

The One Day Semi Final saw ANU bat first against Wests and score a solid if not great 192 with young star Felix Ford making a solid 41. Wests reply started solidly but from 1/44 they collapsed to 4/65 and never recovered to be dismissed for just 111.

On a pitch that was difficult to get started on, a low-scoring thriller ensued. Only 4 batsmen passed 20 in the match and wickets fell in clumps. The key partnership was the 9th wicket for Queanbeyan that took them from 66 to 103 and their set batsman got them over the line.

In the 2 Day Semi Final Tuggeranong batted first and recovered from 8/106 to post a reasonable 193. However, evergreen Randall Starr scored a run-a-ball 68 out of an opening partnership of 116 to setup a platform for an easy ANUCC victory.

In the 2 Day Grand Final, Wests batted first but never really got going to post 161 with 3 players passing 30 but none reaching 40. Josh Hogan was the chief wicket taker with 4/24. In reply a solid opening stand of 99 between Randall Starr and Dylan Clements set up a chase that, with a couple of stutters, ended up successful. Wests tried to hammer a quick 2nd innings but conceded at 4/28.

RESULT : ANU won by 4 wickets on 1st Innings
Third grade had almost as good a year as the 2s. They emerged victorious in the 2 Day comp and runners up in the 1 Day comp. Michael Ireland amassed 490 runs @ 32.7 and passed the 10,000 runs mark for the club. Captain Stephen Sorbello also passed 400 with 423 @ 38.5 whilst promising youngster John Allen scored 308 runs @ 18.1. 
Lukas Santinon had an amazing year with the ball taking 49 wickets at just 10.2 whilst Matt Hughes was even more miserly with 32 wickets at just 9.1. 
The One Day semi was a low scoring affair with ANU making just 146 runs as batsmen struggled to get going and the only partnership of merit was 74 between Michael Ireland and Michael Cohen. Eastlake could not put together a partnership at all and crumbled to be all out 100.

In the 1 Day Grand Final, Queanbeyan posted a very good score of 219 off their 40 overs (why does 3rd Grade play 40 over cricket?!). ANU started well to reach 3/170 in replay but the run rate mounted and ANU then lost 5/17 to end up short with 8/198.

The Grand Final was a tense affair dominated by the spinners on each side. ANU batted first and were kept afloat by a determined 50 by John Allen with Ginninderra's spinner, D Chovatiya, taking 6/42. In reply Ginninderrra were 9/99 but crept towards victory only to fall 10 runs short with Lucas Santinon also taking 6/42. ANU batted again to make 9/127 with D Chovatiya taking 5/29.

RESULT : ANU won by 10 runs on 1st Innings
Fourth Grade, a mixture of wise heads and young talent, again had a good year. They made the 2Day Grand Final and the 1Day semis. David Wallace with 377 runs @ 31.3 and Kaveen Marasighe with 371 runs @ 46.4 led the batting with 3 others (Brett Petersen, Greg Badcock and Charles Kenna) passing 300 runs. Bowling was possibly a bit weaker with David Thomson taking 23 wickets @ 13.5 the best with only 2 others (Chris Emery and Joseph Wright) taking 20+ wickets. 
In the 1Day semi, Queanbeyan made a solid 212 with Greg Badcock, having a rare bowl, taking 3 wickets. ANU started the chase well but none of the batsmen were able to get past 50 once set and despite a late flurry ANU fell 18 runs short.

RESULT : ANU lost by 2 wickets
Fifth Grade has 2 teams again and while neither set the world on fire ANU White after Xmas beat nearly every team in the top 6. Glen Lang was by far the best bat in the grade making 488 runs @ 34.9 and winning the inaugural Sunny Gangal cup for the best player in 5s. Nayang Hettiarachi and Samuel Whitehead both passed 300 runs for the season. In the bowling, Narendiran "Golden Arm" Ganesan, who had a knack of getting a wicket in the first over of a spell, took 18 wickets @ 20.8 for White, while Joshua Butson took 18 wickets @ 15.7 for Royal (and starred in some great PR videos for the derbies).
